Personal Experience
Chris Lucas began his business valuation career at Price Waterhouse in 1994 and spent most of the last 30 years valuing medium and large businesses. In 2018, he re-focused his valuation practice to small and lower-middle-market businesses. Since most of these valuations involved owner transitions out of their businesses, Chris soon developed a strong interest in the business sale and exit planning process. This interest led him to join DBG Advisors in 2023.
Chris graduated with a BBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1988 and an MS in Finance from Texas A&M University in 1992. He possesses the following credentials of business valuation and exit planning:
- Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) sponsored by the CFA Institute (1998)
- Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) licensed by the State of Texas (1994)
- Accredited in Business Valuation (“ABV”) sponsored by the AICPA (2018)
- Certified Exit Planning Advisor (“CEPA”) credential from the Exit Planning Institute (2021)
Chris serves on the board of the Texas Society of CPAs (“TXCPA”) and has qualified to serve as an expert witness before the US Court of Federal Claims, the US Bankruptcy Court and various district courts in the State of Texas.
