- Baby Boomers are a large percentage of business owners and are planning for an exit, retiring in large numbers

- Public company valuation has never been higher and a strong IPO market has led to many mergers
- Startups in technology and software continue to attract investors, funding mergers and buyouts
- Conflict with China has spurred domestic manufacturing to reshore in Texas, leading to acquisitions
- A bounce in oil and gas prices created strong demand for mergers in 2021 with 40 transactions
In addition, Dallas Fort-Worth continued to grow during the pandemic, with a population migration from California and other states. From 2010-2020, the region has grown 18.5%, compared with the national average of 6.3 percent.
